According to The Old Farmer’s Almanac, summer officially starts on June 20, 2021, which coincides with Father’s Day. There are many ways to experience the Golden Isles, whether you are a local or a tourist. How are you going to take advantage of this summer? One of the best ways to experience the summer of 2021 is to get outdoors and explore, and be adventurous.
Those who call the Golden Isles home have so many options to share what makes the area with guests visiting the area. From the beaches of Jekyll and St. Simons Island to various dining options to tours, biking and walking trails, and nightlife. The Golden Isles is situated between Savannah and Jacksonville off I-95. Day trips to Savannah, GA, north for about an hour and a half drive to just over an hour south to get to Jacksonville.
Taking a closer look at activities that offer locals and visitors adventurous options takes advantage of both the land and water. First, there are kayaking tours with Southeast Adventure Outfitters departing from various locations. If you are great with balance while being out on the water, perhaps paddleboarding tours with Turtle Tides Outfitters St. Simons or Jekyll. Both are attractive options to enjoy the water while getting some exercise.
Maybe you do not want to do the work to explore the intercoastal waterway and tidal creeks. If you prefer to be a passenger and visit Jekyll Island, go out with Dolphin Tours of Jekyll Island or with Coastal Expeditions Charter and Dolphin Cruises, to name a couple. Perhaps you prefer to depart from Morningstar Marianas off St. Simons Island’s F.J. Torras Causeway; then there is Lighthouse Trolley Land and Sea Tours. If you desire to experience a shrimp boat excursion, check out the Lady Jane Shrimp Boat off U.S. 17, where Marshside Grill is located.
Whether you want to tour locally or visiting the Golden Isles, there is so much to explore. The St. Simons Lighthouse, Fort Frederica, Fort King George, the Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation, Okefenokee Swamp, Cumberland Island, etc. Stay turned on more about tours and dining in the Golden Isles.
